GTA 6 Launch Trailer: Details You May Have Missed
Frame by frame details from the GTA 6 launch trailer: character portraits, sweat, dogs, weapon attachments and the Justice score, each labelled.
Rockstar's launch trailer is a cinematic piece rather than a gameplay reveal, but viewers have been going through it frame by frame. This page collects what they found and, more importantly, how sure we can be about each detail. Unless a line says otherwise, treat it as reported: spotted in the footage, not confirmed by Rockstar.
Character portraits that follow the outfit (reported)
When you switch between Jason and Lucia, the portrait reportedly reflects what the character is wearing and how they look, rather than a fixed stock image. One viewer matched a trailer frame against the footage from the Extended Look to show it. It fits the way the two protagonists are presented in our Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos profiles, but Rockstar has not described the feature itself.
Sweat and body detail (reported)
Rockstar has talked about a sweat system, according to the coverage we used. Characters react differently when they are running, chased by police or dancing in a club, and working out is said to be in the game. We are treating the details as reported until Rockstar documents the system itself.
Weapons with different attachments (speculation)
One frame shows two women, apparently from a gang, holding two rifles of the same family that carry different modifiers and attachments. Viewers read that as a glimpse of weapon customisation. It is a fair reading, but one frame is not a system, so we have not added it to the weapon classes page as fact.
Heists and tactical work (reported)
The trailer pairs a helicopter hauling stolen cargo through windows with a character walking into a bank vault full of cash. Together they point at large scale robberies, which matches the direction described in GTA 6 heists explained and the smaller jobs in the robbery system breakdown. A separate shot shows Jason on a tactical job with a rifle coming out of water and night vision goggles. Whether night vision is a usable item or only a cutscene prop is unknown.
Dogs, luggage and street life (reported)
Viewers counted several types of dog, different leash styles and a tactical looking dog next to Jason, plus pedestrians pulling wheeled luggage. What nobody can say yet is whether dogs appear in free roam as random pedestrians. Until that is shown in gameplay, treat the dogs as set dressing from a trailer.
Watches that may track the time (speculation)
A freeze frame suggests the watches on the protagonists' wrists are highly detailed and might show the in-game time of day. It is a nice detail if true, and nothing more than a reading of one shot for now.
The music: Justice (reported)
The trailer song is Flower in a Hurricane by Justice. The coverage we used also says Justice is composing the original score for the whole game. Treat the score claim as reported until Rockstar credits it itself. We will add it to the confirmed features page if it is confirmed.
Platforms: PlayStation branding (reported)
The trailer opens with Sony marketing that says the game plays best on PS5, and viewers noted there was no mention of PS5 Pro in that card. Rockstar's official GTA VI page lists only PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S for the 19 November 2026 launch, so there is no confirmed PS5 Pro support, and our release date guide now says the same.
Real world marketing (reported)
Murals have been appearing in cities, with one reported in Brooklyn and others reported in London and Los Angeles, and customised cars have been spotted in Miami. A Vice City themed blimp has also been reported, though even the source we used was not sure it is real. A partnership between Florida and Rockstar to dress Miami and parts of the state as Vice City was announced a couple of weeks before the trailer. For the fictional city itself, see the Vice City guide.
What this does not tell us
A launch trailer is edited to impress. None of the details above change the price, the date or the systems Rockstar has already explained, and our price and editions guide and pre-order guide remain the place to check the practical launch questions.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which song is in the GTA 6 launch trailer?
Flower in a Hurricane by Justice, according to coverage of the trailer. The same coverage reports that Justice is composing the game's original score.
Does the launch trailer confirm weapon customisation?
No. Two rifles with different attachments appear in one shot, which viewers read as customisation, but Rockstar has not confirmed a system.
Does GTA 6 have a sweat system?
Yes, according to the coverage we used: Rockstar described a system where sweat changes with activity such as running, being chased or exercising.
Is there PS5 Pro support?
Not confirmed. Rockstar's official GTA VI page lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S only, and the trailer's Sony card reportedly names PS5 only.
