GTA 6 map: every region of Leonida so far

Leonida is a state, not a city. That is the single most important thing to understand about the GTA 6 map, and it is why comparisons to the Los Santos map miss the point. Rockstar has now shown six named regions, and a Rockstar North preview added the first size comparisons that came from the studio itself rather than from fan measurement.

Vice City (confirmed)

The urban centre, returning for the first time since 2006, rebuilt at modern scale rather than remade. Rockstar has named several neighbourhoods directly: Ocean Beach for the art deco hotels and white sand, Little Cuba for its bakeries, the Tisha Walka Flea Market, and a working port where cruise ships dock. Leonida Keys (confirmed)

A chain of islands off the coast, connected by long bridges, where Jason's story begins. Rockstar describes the Keys as a relatively relaxed place to live while making a point of the surrounding water being genuinely dangerous. This is the area that makes water travel a real part of getting around rather than a novelty.

Grassrivers (confirmed)

The swamp region, Leonida's version of the Everglades. Shallow water, airboats and alligators dominate the footage, but it is not empty: a settlement called Watson Bay sits tucked into the wetland, giving the region a town alongside the swamp.

Port Gellhorn (confirmed)

A former holiday town left behind. Rockstar's own description mentions a cheap motel, shuttered attractions and empty strip malls, replaced now by a rougher economy built around dirt bikes, biker gangs and painkillers. The closest comparison in tone is Sandy Shores from GTA 5.

Ambrosia (confirmed)

An industrial region near the centre of the state, built around the Allied Crystal Sugar Refinery. Several screenshots place a motorcycle club in the area, which suggests the refinery is a front for more than sugar processing.

Mount Kalaga (confirmed)

Forest and cliffs along Leonida's northern border. Hunting, fishing and off road trails are all present, and Rockstar's framing of the people out here (described as paranoid and isolated) hints at the kind of hidden detail Mount Chiliad held in GTA 5.

Map size

No exact figure in square kilometres has been published. A Rockstar North preview did produce studio comparisons rather than fan estimates: the full map is reported as roughly twice the size of GTA 5 and three times the playable area of Red Dead Redemption 2, with Vice City itself twice the size of Los Santos. A separate figure, that the built up area outside Vice City is eleven times the built up area outside Los Santos, describes density outside the city specifically, not the whole map, and should not be read as an overall size multiplier.
